Summer in the city means TGIF Concerts in the Parks, a tradition that has truly become an integral part of the community’s life.
Since 1986, the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office has been presenting free concerts in the city’s parks during the summer. In 1986, there were four concerts, with about 150 people at each concert. Now each concert attendance reaches approximately 4,000 people.
Concerts take place on Friday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and begin in late June and run through the summer. The schedule of parks and bands is usually posted on the website by mid-May.
