Ahead of the season of giving, Visit Carlsbad, the destination marketing organization for Carlsbad, CA, is launching a new fall campaign designed to support the local community and drive tourism through regenerative travel experiences. The “All Good, Do Good” campaign will run from October 3 through the end of the holiday season, inclusive of packages and partnerships with local hospitality businesses and in support of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation. The campaign also aligns with Visit Carlsbad’s new brand, “All Good”, slated to launch in October 2022.
Agua Hedionda Lagoon FoundationThree Lagoons in One
The mission is to preserve the Agua Hedionda Lagoon, a nature experience that offers hands-on activities and education to travelers. The foundation provides visitors with direct access to nature by way of eco tours and offers experiences that give back to the foundation including but not limited to habitat restoration projects, citizen science activities through the AHLF Naturalist mapping app, and yoga classes. This partnership will help to raise awareness for the foundation and their initiatives, all while giving visitors an opportunity to participate in hands-on projects and provide financial support to the foundation.
Carlsbad AquafarmSustainable Farming Practices
Visit a sustainable shellfish farm and market dedicated to preserving the coastal environment where we sustainably grow our shellfish in harmony with the natural marine environment. Carlsbad Aquafarm traces its roots back to the early 1950’s. Back then an aquaculture research facility was established along the southwest shore of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon to determine how best to improve and sustain the ecological health of the lagoon. Researchers concluded that shellfish would be the keystone species needed upon which a healthy lagoon could support a diversity of marine life, shorebirds and wildlife.
The Cassara CarlsbadQuintessential Californian Vibe
The resort is offering a “VIP Eco Tour for Two” package, inclusive of overnight luxury accommodation and VIP Eco-Tour at Agua Hedionda Lagoon for two. This package will also include waived nightly parking at the resort and a free hotel shuttle to and from Agua Hedionda Lagoon. The package is valid when booked and travelling from 10/1/22 through 12/21/22. Advance reservations are required, and package cannot be combined with any additional offers. The 2-hour standup or sit-down kayak tour provides visitors with an in-depth look at the eco system around the lagoon including native plants, bird, animal, and fish life. Cancellation and Modifications must be made prior to 72 hours of arrival. Reservations cannot be booked within 72 hours of booking date; 72-hour lead-time is required for advance bookings.

Guests can enjoy an upgraded breakfast, plus a donation made on their behalf to the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation which includes free admission to the Lagoon’s Discovery Center.

Beach Genie will offer a free special add on to an experience when a receipt for a monetary/volunteer donation to the Agua Hedionda Lagoon is provided when booking a package.

They have teamed up with Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation to create the perfect thrilling experience. The haunted maze is perfect for teenagers and adults, guaranteed to get your heart thumping. Only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so make plan accordingly. A portion of your admission goes to educating the future Lagoon Stewards at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon.
The Shine FoundationGiving Back
Allowing volunteers to assist participants and their families in having safe and supported access to the beach, ocean, and fun recreational water and beach activities. Volunteers will have the opportunity to connect with each of their guests with special needs and their families as they assist them on the beach and in the water. Volunteering with SHINE will help you gain a feeling of empathy, compassion, leadership, and joy knowing they are directly impacting and making a difference in the lives of our guests.
