Since its inception, Jeune et Jolie has taken the local food scene by storm. Named one of Esquire Magazine’s 22 best new restaurants in America in 2019, the charming French-inspired eatery has quickly become one of Carlsbad’s most sought after culinary hot spots. The quaint 90-seat restaurant was created by former executive chef Andrew Bachelier. He named the blush-colored cookery after his daughter, Margot Jolie. In early July, Bachelier announced that he is stepping down to spend more time with family. Now, acclaimed L.A. chef Eric Bost is moving to Carlsbad to lead the kitchen. Bost has worked in some of the world’s top restaurants and will join the team at Jeune et Jolie later this month.
Jeune et Jolie’s menu has been recognized for its unique take on French cuisine. The model is innovative and set apart from other restaurants in Carlsbad and surrounding San Diego county. With champagne hues and brass details gracing the small dining room inside, Jeune et Jolie is a treasure for guests of all walks of life. From sun drenched surfers to foodies venturing to the coast – Jeune et Jolie serves up fine dining with laid back vibes. The drink menu gives a nod to the French colonies and grabs flavors from around the globe. Even their non-alcoholic options are tastefully curated with flavors of grapefruit seltzer, limes, sage, and lilac. The food is displayed via a show-stopping menu that includes everything from hands-on seafood to coddled eggs and Wagyu beef.

Now, Jeune et Jolie is embracing the allure of Southern California’s sunny summers and presenting Starry Nights, an outdoor tasting menu dining experience underneath olive trees and the starry cover of night. They have taken the opportunity to transform unusual circumstances into something that is beautiful, breezy, and enjoyable.
During Starry Nights, guests take part in a 5-course menu. The menu is presented at $95 per guest (tax and tip included) and prepaid reservations are required. Food selections for the pre-fixe menu will change on a rolling basis, but guests can be sure to enjoy items such as Dungeness crab, tzatziki, and ratatouille.
For the time being, quarantine has changed the restaurant landscape in Carlsbad. Jeune et Jolie adapted to these changes with grace. Reserve your spot now – Starry Nights is open Wednesday-Sunday evenings and reservations are filling up quickly.
