This year, the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa is taking New Year’s Eve attire up a notch by hosting a family friendly event with a costume contest. Ring in the new year by dressing up as your favorite superhero or villain and competing with other party-goers for a variety of prizes. Entertainment will cater to the whole family with a live DJ spinning tunes all night. The Sheraton will be offering two ball drops throughout the course of the evening. The first will be at 9 p.m. and the second will follow tradition at 12 a.m. Families with little ones can celebrate earlier, giving parents the flexibility to party regardless of bedtimes. In addition to a buffet style dinner with separate food options for children and adults, a Party Zone will be set up with a gaming room, face painting, and billiards. The cocktail bar will offer themed drinks to accompany a night full of dancing and fun to ring in 2018.

If you’re looking to get a fresh start on a healthy new year, Twenty/20 Grill is the perfect spot to celebrate the close of 2017 and welcome the start of 2018. As one of Carlsbad’s premiere locations for children’s entertainment and creativity, LEGOLAND has perfected the craft of kid friendly entertainment, no matter what time of year it is. While New Year’s Eve parties are often geared towards adults, LEGOLAND’s event is targeted at the little ones. In order to make the most of the evening and honor bedtimes, they have moved the countdown from midnight to 6 p.m. The park will deliver their own twist on the ball drop by using a giant LEGO brick perched from over 22 feet in the air. A fireworks display will light up the sky to conclude the year.

As the lights and glamour fade from New Year’s Eve, New Year’s day will serve as the first opportunity to make good on resolutions and promises for 2018. To help align intention with action, The Station is teaming up with DJ Leif to host a day long event combining music, dance, food, and meditation.
